Best Wineries in Santorini
Santorini is the picture of tranquility, with its azure sea and white buildings that dot its landscape. If your idea of a relaxing day includes wine tasting, then Santorini will be a great place for you to visit! There are many wineries on the island, but here are some of our favorites:

Santo Wines
Santο Wines’ facilities include the Winery, a Tomato Process Factory, and the Wine Tourism Center. The gravity winery is among the state-of-the-art infrastructures in Greece, while the processing factory of PDO Santorini Tomato, is nowadays the only active on the island. The Wine Tourism Center, with its exquisite location at the village of Pyrgos and the hospitality facilities of the highest quality standards offering a breathtaking view of the Caldera, have established Santo Wines as one of the top wine-tourism destinations, welcoming more than 600k visitors from all over the world.
Organic Vineyard: Santo Wines maintains a privately owned Organic Vineyard of 0,2 ha from which the single-variety Organic wines Aidani, Athiri, and Mavrotragano are produced.

Venetsanos Winery
Venetsanos Winery is located right above the port of Athinios, overlooking the magnificent caldera of Santorini. The Venetsanos family has a very long tradition of producing wine. Originally was produced for the island and subsequently, it was exported extensively, particularly to countries such as Russia. It was built in 1947 by the Venetsanos family and became the first industrial winery on the island. Its most distinguishing feature is the structural design, which essentially used gravity, facilitating energy efficiency, at a time when access to electricity and other energy sources was very limited. The winery was built in an unconventional manner constructed from above and moving downwards. Venetsanos Winery has also been transformed in order to host the most exclusive events and weddings on the island of Santorini.

Gavalas Winery
Gavalas Winery is located at the traditional settlement of Megalochori, Santorini. This stone building used to be an old canava-winery, following the traditional architecture of the ancient Thira. With respect to the local culture we have retained all the original areas of the winery, such us cellars, grape stomping rooms and old entrances.
This family-owned business has a small winery and tasting room, as well as a large vineyard. Today their wines are now distributed all over Greece and exported to many international markets like the USA, Japan, Cyprus, Belgium, and the UK.

Sigalas Winery
The Sigalas Winery is a family-owned winery located near the village of Oia, Santorini.
The winery of Domaine Sigalas is nestled between vines on the scenic plain of Oia in the northern part of Santorini. The 40 hectares of surrounding vineyards are cultivated in a sustainable manner and the winery’s annual wine production reaches 200,000 bottles. All wines are crafted with great attention to the varieties of Santorini and the neighboring Cyclades. Domaine Sigalas is one of the most prominent exporters of Greek wines worldwide, and the winery’s renowned, award-winning labels are also available across Greece. The wine is aged in barrels before being bottled—there’s no additional filtering or fining that takes place here, so you’ll get to enjoy pure fruity goodness when you drink it!

Boutari Winery
Boutari Winery is one of the greatest and most historical companies of quality winemaking in Greece. Since its establishment in 1879, by John Boutari, great-grandfather of today’s President & C.E.O. Constantine Boutari, the company has set the foundations for the production of high-quality wines.
The winery’s wine tasting room is located in Megalochori where you can try the different wines made by Boutari. The winery offers tours throughout the day which include tastings of both white and red wines from Santorini along with snacks prepared by their own chefs.
In addition to tours and tastings, Boutari Winery has a bar restaurant that serves Greek cuisine that pairs well with their fine wines as well as a nice outdoor terrace perfect for enjoying your meal while taking in views below you. Finally, you can also enjoy cocktails made using local ingredients such as grapes from vineyards around Santorini or olives grown on neighboring islands such as Crete or Rhodes.

Art Space
Art Space Winery is a small family-run winery located in the western part of Santorini, close to the village of Imerovigli. The winery produces wines with small production and high quality, which are dedicated to wine lovers who have an affinity for natural wines.
Art Space was founded by Ioannis Sgaras in 2011 but it wasn’t until 2012 that he started making his own wines. Since then, Art Space has been producing exceptional reds from indigenous grapes like Assyrtiko and Athiri while also producing award-winning whites using grapes such as Moschofilero and Riesling.

Canava Roussos
Canava Roussos is a winery in Episkopi Gonias, Santorini. The family-run business offers wine tastings in its cozy tasting room or on the terrace overlooking the vineyards.
